Cardboard + fabric = 4"x6"x2" ammo case for Engineer. I just need either buttons or Velcro on the inside to close the flap. It's the perfect size to be a case for my NDS case.

Buildin' a Wrench Here

Stage one: Complete! The wrench is just over 2 feet long and is made from cardboard and tons of tape, so it's very light. Next step is to paper mache it up.

Afterwards, or maybe while the wrench dries as I plaster it, I'll be making a PDA out of the same box and some keyboard keys.

Had life drawing tonight for the first time in months; it was good! There were maybe 30 or so people in there sketching at first and I had to draw on the floor, then it went down to 10-15 after the break. 1 min. poses, 2 min. poses, 5 min. poses, 10 min. poses, then finally, some 20 min. poses. After the break, we did a few 1 or 2 min. poses to warm back up again. I'll go again for sure.

Seattle - Day One

Me and six others arrived here in Seattle by bus earlier this evening at around 10, I'll guess. The bus ride was quiet and uneventful, so I used the time to do some animation on a project I'll be sporadically working on this weekend (and should be working on now) which I will upload versions of later.

After settling in, we went out in search for the Subway we spotted earlier, but it turns out it was closed. We walked a block to a 'Ralph's Deli' which is a lot like Vancouver's 'Caper's' grocery store (in my opinion- overpriced, organic, and pretentious) and I spent way too much on some makeshift dinner which was undelicious.

Now, we're just back at the hotel, wasting time and going to sleep soon. We got a pretty nice set of rooms, two that are attached at the bathroom, then another down the hall for three girls. Anyhow, I'm going to go to bed now; it's 1 am? and we're waking up at 9 to get breakfast and go to the convention tomorrow. GOOD NIGHT

I just bought myself a new laptop over the weekend. It nearly broke the bank at $24 from the Salvation Army! I don't want to get into the habit of just putting up photos, but this was such an amazing find, I have to share action shots with you!
Weighing in at 15 pounds and housing a 20 megabyte hard drive, this beautiful Toshiba T1300/20 is so KEEN.
Simple and effective main menu. I'm looking for some new wallpapers, but this should be okay for now. (I've since changed the date to today's, by the way.)Some system settings? I especially like how the date's been reset to 1900. (Sharpened in Photoshop to increase legibility.)
From the power of my computer-snooping and Google abilities, I discovered that this lady was the laptop's previous owner. Note to people who donate their personal computers and/or laptops to thrift stores: delete your resumes and other important information first, otherwise weirdos will stalk your photo on the internet.

Overall, a winning weekend. (And I didn't even mention the soapbox derby!) I figure I'm going to use this laptop for school to take notes in. Hopefully the keyboard is really loud and klackety. Also, if anyone has any information on this particular model, knows how to use it, please let me know! I'm looking for manuals, programs, anything.

Well, it turns out I couldn't go to my first yoga class on Friday. Instead, this is how I spent the weekend!
Like yoga, becoming very ill is another great way to lose weight! Too bad you also lose all your colour and clothes when you end up in the UBC hospital during a powerout. Although the good news is that my younger sister likes it when I'm sick because I turn delerious and say whatever's on my mind like, "Don't hug me or I'll shout barf at you!" which was completely logical at the time. Anyway, I've been sleeping on and off all day so I'm going to try to go to bed again. Hopefully I get better soon, this is annoying.
